 Info:

  • Both of RCB’s wins have been built on tight bowling from the unit and individual brilliance. In the first game it was Harshal Patel who delivered a fantastic final over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings in which only 1 run was scored and 4 wickets fell. Against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they looked all set for their first defeat of the campaign before Shahbaz Ahmed took the wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey and Abdul Samad during the 17th over and take them from 115-2 to 116-5. With the bat, the surfaces haven’t been conducive for big scores but Glenn Maxwell has already hit 98 runs, 10 runs shy of his entire total from the 2020 season.
  • KKR have also produced brilliance with the ball, Andre Russell following up Harshal Patel’s 5-27 against Mumbai Indians with his own 5-15 from 2 overs. However, Russell’s five wickets didn’t produce a victory. The win against Sunrisers Hyderabad saw Prasidh Krishna take the leading role with 2-35. With the bat, 137 of KKR’s 329 runs so far in the tournament have been scored by Nitish Rana. Rahul Tripathi’s 29-ball 53 is the only other individual score above 50 for Eoin Morgan’s team.
  • RCB will now have Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson available after completing their quarantine periods. KKR are yet to use the pace of Lockie Ferguson but are perhaps saving him for more conducive pitches later on in the tournament.

 TV Channels
The match can be watched live on Star Sports in India, Sky Cricket in the UK and Willow TV in the USA.

 Toss Predictions
The captains like to chase and we don’t envisage either Virat Kohli or Eoin Morgan changing the habit of all the skippers in the tournament so far.

 Weather & Pitch Report
⛅ Weather:
The sun will be shining and the temperature around 33 degrees in this earlier than usual game

🏟️ Pitch:
Tough to bat on with most players struggling to read the pace of the wicket. We again expect a relatively low scoring game with spin and pace-off bowling to come to the fore.

 Team NEWS:

 KKR Team News:
KKR have selected the same XI in both of their games so far with differing outcomes. There is always the option to throw Lockie Ferguson into the action but they may choose to stick with the same team who arguably should have won two out of two.

 RCB Team News:
RCB made one change from their first game victory over Mumbai Indians, Rajat Patidar making way for Devdutt Padikkal. Adam Zampa could be a very handy option in Chennai but none of their bowlers have let the side down as yet in the tournament.

 KKR Key Players:

 Nitish Rana
Mr Consistent with the bat for KKR and 137 runs so far in this year’s competition. After hitting between 304 and 352 runs across the last four IPLs, this year could see him aiming for the Orange Cap

 Andre Russell
The Caribbean all-rounder already has as many wickets in this year’s IPL than he picked up in 10 games last year. If KKR can get his batting going as well then they will be near the top of the league.

 Eoin Morgan
KKR’s captain is yet to hit the heights of his power hitting from the 2020 IPL. However, whether performing for KKR or England, Morgan is always worth so much more than his weight in runs. As a leader, they don’t come much calmer under pressure.

 RCB Key Players:

 Virat Kohli:
He’s been dismissed on 33 from 29 balls in both games and each time he has hit 4 fours and 0 sixes. He will consider these to have both been failures but the team has won each game. There are many more runs to come from Virat for sure.

 Glenn Maxwell
The Aussie all-rounder is a changed man in the colours of RCB after a disappointing IPL with Kings XI Punjab last year. A half-century and a 39 is an excellent start for the man who will be looking to emulate the 552 runs he scored in the 2014 IPL.

 Mohammed Siraj
His stock has risen considerably since making his Test debut in Melbourne last December. So far his economy rate is at an impressive 5.87 and he will be looking to improve on last year’s return of 11 wickets.

 Team Forms:

 KKR Team Form:
KKR’s lack of consistency cost them a place in the playoffs in the 2020 IPL and they are already showing signs of the same in IPL 2021. We always expect runs from Rana but never know exactly which KKR will turn up.

 RCB Team Form:
Certainly the form side in this year’s IPL with the only 100% record so far. They have turned around their miserable end to the 2020 competition where they lost their final five games.

 SQUAD:
 Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Kane Richardson, Washington Sundar, Pavan Deshpande, Finn Allen, Shahbaz Ahamad, Navdeep Saini, Adam Zampa, Kyle Jamieson, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Sachin Baby, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Daniel Christian, KS Bharat, Suyash Prabhudessai, Daniel Sams, Harshal Patel.

 Kolkata Knight Riders:
Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Karun Nair, Eoin Morgan (F), Nitish Rana, Gurkeerat Mann Singh, Tim Seifert (F), Dinesh Karthik, Sheldon Jackson, Andre Russell (F), Shakib Al Hasan (F), Ben Cutting (F), Venkatesh Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine (F), Harbhajan Singh, Pawan Negi, Vaibhav Arora, Pat Cummins (F), Lockie Ferguson (F), Prasidh Krishna, Sandeep Warrier, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti.
